At the Geelong Youth Choir, we believe that:

• singing is a fundamental form of self-expression, which all children should be encouraged to explore;

• every child should have the opportunity to develop their voice, the most accessible of instruments;

• musicianship should be developed along with the voice, providing a thorough musical education;

• learning how to read and understand music provides children with the keys to a range of future musical pursuits;

• exposure to quality enjoyable musical experiences in childhood lays the foundations for a lifelong love and appreciation of music, and inspires children to participate in the arts in later years.
